Did I make a mistake in ordering this?

I have the 8 lamp Nova Extreme fixture (Model #1123). Since it runs on two circuits, I thought that I could independently control the Actinic circuit from the Daylight circuit with this unit by having the Actinics coming on earlier and staying on later than the Daylight bulbs.

I have not opened the package, but it does not appear this unit will do what I would like. Is there something more appropriate for what I want to do? The catalog has the Zilla Power Center but I would be wasting 2 outlets it seems with unit...

The Zilla Power Center would be a nice option for you, what I like about it is that you have the option to use the additional outlets for other pieces of equipment you may need to plug into. I know I always seem to be needing additional outlets.
