Cushion for under tank..?

I just got a sump up and running a few days ago and today it cracked (20 gal. AGA tank). Luckily there was no flood. I have it sitting on 2x4's that are part of the main stands frame. The sump was sitting level although the ends did not have any support.

Besides adding end supports, what could I use as a "cushion" under the tank- basically something to more evenly distribute the weight under it in case a 2x4 is alittle short or high in a spot? Any help/advice is appreciated.

Most people use polystyrene sheets (I think its polystyrene). White sheets available from DIY shops.

Or the 1" thick insulation foam from Home Depot/Lowes. It is a REALLY dense and pink (blue is 3/4" and works too, or something)

I also like the 1" foam insulation from HD. It comes in 4'x8' sheets.
