Thanks guys....lol...did I never post the FTS?
Sorry about that......Im going on vacation in a few hours but when I get back Ill definitely get on that.
Well, after breaking promise after promise to post update pics, I finally got around to taking pictures. To be honest, I would have done this about 4-6 months ago but I had two pretty bad episodes that almost wiped out every coral in the tank.
The first was a hurried water change where apparently the salt didn't mix well enough. Every SPS bleached and lost tissue. Some Amino Acids, a few water changes, and some time later, every single coral came back.
The second was when instead of dosing said amino acids into the tank, I grabbed the wrong bottle and poured a whole lot of Seachem Paraguard in. This time, all softies, LPS and SPS completely shriveled and began deteriorating. Luckily I noticed right away and was able to do about a 60% water change that night. I added a bunch of carbon and did an 85% water change the next day and then another 60% water change the following day.
The coral tissue began coming back within 2 weeks but it took about a full 2 months or so for the color to come back. In the pictures you can still see a lot of the damage the Paraguard caused.
In both cases, I've been really lucky that they came back at all. My wife says I'm creating a super breed of "eternal life" coral....let's hope.
Anyway, here is what you've all been waiting for. Sorry for the lack of photography skills.
