Custom 225 Gal For Sale!

Over-The-Top- Reef Geek
Hi Everyone:

Must have lost my marbles, but I've decided to go in a different direction in my reef-keeping, and I'm selling my 225 Acrylic Aquarium, Stand, Sump, Canopy, and System Pump.

The aquarium is 72"x30"x24", has a black back and comes with a fully open top and a powdercoated steel frame. The stand is custom built, and is steel frame sheathed in Ash wood. The front panel is completely removable, allowing full access beneath the aquarium. The overflow box has two 2" bulkheads.

The sump has two baffles, and is approximately 70 gallons in capacity. A Sequence Dart pump is included.

The aquarium does have some scratches, and could use some buffing to remove them. The top frame does have some rust on the top rear, but is compeltely structurally sound. Just needs to be sanded and painted with marine grade paint or re-powdercoated. Just needs a little TLC to be showroom quality.

The only reason I'm selling this system at all is that I am downsizing and trying some new ideas, otherwise I'd keep this system forever!

I'm asking $1,500 for all of these items.

This is an excellent chance to pick up a great custom system at a deeply discounted price!

I also have a Deltec AP702 skimmer that I'm asking $1,300 for. If purchased with the rest of the system, it's yours for $1,100. Also available is a Deltec PF500 Fluidized Calcium Reactor for $425.00, or $375.00 with the setup, and a Deltec Rowaphos Reactor for $125.00, or $100.00 with the setup.

Bottom line- $3,075.00 takes everything.

If you buy the whole system, you also get the gravity feed manifold that powers all of these items. Lots of high quality ball valves are included.

If purchased seperately, please note that the skimmer will not be available until the tank is actually broken down. Here is a thread from when the tank was set up that shows some of the equipment:

Please shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Thanks!

Scott

Scott, I thought you were kidding Monday night! Holy cow, you have lost it.

I should buy the skimmer from you, do you take payments :p

Yep- I might have lost it! But I am pretty comfortable with the decision to sell. It wasn't an easy one, but better in the long term! I guess I'm the restless type...

rbdesigns- I am keeping the lighting for now for use on my new system, but I might sell one of the RO III's at some point. I'll keep you notified.

Hello Scott,

Your tank was the inspiration for mine.

Sorry to see it go. Goodluck.

Regards,

Joseph

P.S. Sent you a PM.

scott,

i hope you arent getting out the hobby and just going to try out something different with a new tank. this tank is top notch guys! do yourself a favor and buy the whole system i cant see any reason why you would be dissappointed in the purchase. so a free bump for scott.

Nope- Not getting out at all! Gonna be more involved than ever!Just moving in a differrent direction...I've got mixed feelings about parting with it, but I'm excited about some of the new stuff I'll be doing.

Thanks much for the bump. There's been a lot of interest so far, and I greatly appreciate it! I'm trying to be as fair as possible with the pricing. Not trying to gouge, and I'm being up front about the need for the buffing and powdercoating. Obviously, the Deltec stuff ain't that cheap, but I've discounted it as resonably as possible.

As oosurfin mentioned, the system was sort of designed around the gravity feed, so it would be more logical if someone purchased the whole system. It really is the best-designed SPS system that I've ever worked with. I am entertaining ALL reasonable offers, so don't be shy. I'd love for some crazy SPS geek to grab this system and really rock! Believe me, if I were rich and didn't need to raise the $$ for a new system, I'd give it away! I love this hobby and all you crazy reef geeks!

Thanks again!

Scott

Damn, I could have bought your whole system for a fraction of my new tank. And then I could of put it on a trailer and somehow have it crash into my truck. Scott I have a 385g with your name on it. A little bit of masking tape and bubble gum and your set!!!

WOW, I am so excited I can't stand it... I just talked to Scott an hour ago and I'm the lucky new owner. I just hope I can sleep better tonight than I did last night. I have been thinking of upgrading to a larger tank for almost a year now. This deal is beyond my wildest dreams....
Thank you again Scott.

bradleyj, you are one lucky guy!
Besides dealing with one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, you got one of the best deals I have ever seen.

Thank you Ken. I still can't believe it myself. He was very nice to talk to on the phone a little while ago and I'm more stoked about it now more than ever. I'm having a hard time typing right now.

Hey Scott-
Why don't you deliver the tank for Brad. It will give me a chance to see you and ask you all sorts of questions. Think of it as a warm up to IMAC.
Hope all is well, and looking forward to seeing you soon,
Adam

Thanks to all of you for your interest.

Ken- thanks for the props! I'm thrilled that we're in a hobby community where basically everyone is cool!

I'm really happy for Brad; I think he's gonna really have fun with the system! And I'm excited about working on a new system, too.

Adam- I was really stoked to find put that Brad is a friend of yours! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Adam C. said he had a great time speaking at your club. Are you speaking at IMAC and WMC, or just IMAC? You will be speaking at MACNA, too-right? I'm at PMAS in May

We may need to have you speak in LA, too!

Catch you soon!

Scott

Scott-
I am still waiting for you to come here and meet my club. ;)
I'll be at PMAS in October LOL.
As of now, I'm only speaking at IMAC. I haven't heard anything from MACNA, so I'm guessing not????? Who knows maybe they'll still contact me. If I do speak there I'll also be heading out on the dive trip following MACNA.
I'll also mention that your tank will be in great hands. Brad has the best tank in the state. I think a lot of that is due to his incredible maintenance skills and schedule. I'm sure your tank will become/remain a gorgeous example of reef aquaria.
