its be 1 week and i found 2 small leeks that will be fixed with weld on 16 for 1 and some plummers past for the other. no biggy. but i think the big news is that without any cooling fans my fresh water test only got up to a max of 81 degrees and a low of 76. the ave. was from 79-76. i lost about 10 gal of water in evap. i ran the halides only on a 6 hour lights on. i think if i ever up grade to 250watt i will have to cool but for now i dont think so. i will be only running 2-3 more power heads or pumps in the sump area that may only add 50 more watt to the water or so.
Befor i empty the tank i will mod the rotars so they spin better with less gph and also shoot more downward so i can get a more random flow down to the coral area. the reef will be a mixed reef, but the back diy live rock i will try to have zoos all over them. and in one spot i would like to put a plate coral on a spot that is 1/2 way up in the tank. i may even go to 10ks on the out sides and keep the 14k in the center.

Hey, Dave - everything is looking good! I can't believe the work you have done on that tank!

Question - those rotators look awesome, but they seemed limited to a single level of flow. Could you add a Hydorflo to them to make them shoot all around as well?

i think a hydorflo would shoot water out of the tank wonce it faced up and also stop the rotar when it points in the oppisit direction that the rotar spins. plus i think the hydorflo doent fit on a 1/2 threaded pvc that the rotar has.
And thanks for the props. me and the wife will be at your house for the oct meeting.

i hope to host a club meeting next year in june or july. i think by then it should (that is if i keep every thing up like i want to) be well off.

What club are you in. I live in Oshkosh and have been looking for a club. Great tank I'm in the planning stages of my 300 system. I have been looking for someone near by to consult with. Keep up the good work TAG

where have you been Customcolor? You got some updating to do:lol:

I hope everything is going well for you.

i was going to do some updating in the next 2 days. i was watching the temps of the tank suring the freshwater tests this last week and since our house had open windows the house got down to 70. the 125 droped from78 to 74 overnight. so i gotta put a heater in so it dont drop past 76. again the tank only maxed out at 81. i was suprized at that cuz of the 3 175 watt halides and the 2 65 watt compacts on for 8 hrs. i guess i should be thank full for that matter.

its ben awile since a true update with pics so here we go
iv ben working with my sump to get it to stop bubbling(still trying now will have to wait till salt is in) and i moded the rotar, plus started an ato. here are the pics of everything.

and the moded rotar so it will spin faster if i wanted to, but i dont so i just close the ball valve to slow it down with less gph so i can run my far left and right retuns with 1/2"loc lines. yes i will have flow every where
Very imaginative and MacGyver like CustomColor. Something in your first picture looks familiar to me....Can't quite put my finger on it though but it might be the overflow box:lol:
