Custom Colors 125 Build

as u can see in this pic the rotar pushes the water strait out at a 90 degree.
rotter.jpg
i didnt want it blowing water hard at my overflow so i put some acrylic at a 45 and cut the side of the rotar so that the water is pushed out the correct side to help push the rotar with less gph. the rotars depend on gph to spin them. so less gph = slower spin, but is to slow they will stick so that is why i moded so they wont stick with less flow. and i wanted the flow to go down more.
you can put a ball valve befor them to adjust the flow to them for the speed. in the vid i have about 400gph going to each of them and they are unmoded in the vid also.

Very imaginative and MacGyver like CustomColor. Something in your first picture looks familiar to me....Can't quite put my finger on it though but it might be the overflow box:lol:
  yeah i am using the overflow i got from you so i dont have to drill the 20 for the refug. it works great. i might be setting the 46 bow as a seahorse tank. (wifes idea) that will be a challange too. the big chalange with that would be the temps for it 72-74 degrees max!

my new bubble free drain.
the 1.25" pvc goes to a 2" 90 then to the 3' peice of 2" pvc that has lots of slots cut into it and a end cap to stop the water at the end. works better that what i though it would.
now the berlin in a bucket. i have holes in the bottom of the bucket and rock in it also to act as a bubble filter.
skimmer.jpg
r u wondering y there is a tube going down the senter? whell ill tell u this is a bubble making machine now. i but a wood air stone down the center of it and WOOW! made skimmate quick and wet. so i put a valve on the air line so i can adjust the amount of air going to it so i can go wet or dry.
Can you explain exactly what you are trying to achieve with your berlin in a bucket? IS tit a type of skimmer with rock? SOme more details please.

Looks like it is all coming together. Its going to be sweet...

im just trying to avoid any micro bubbles. i may get some do to the fact im puting twice the amount of bubbles in the skimmer. it may nott handle that many so im taking no chances. the live rock will work like bubles deflectors as the water travels down the bucket to the large holes i drilled in the bottom of the bucket.

I cant see your ocean currents. Are they still in there? I just got 2 rotators and 2 two port pulsers for $20

they are still in there on the braces so they are up at the top of the water. the canopy hangs down alittle so you cant see them looking strait on. and i got mine the same place u got yours. i just didnt want to say the other web sites name. i thought "why not there cheaper than you can get them on the main site" i gave them a try and i love them sofar. ill give it a year to realy say, never know with something new.

a t o up and working!

a t o up and working!

well earlyer you saw the pic of my float and switch, now here is the rest.
in this pic you will see the off delay timmer, 2 outlets, 2 light switchs. one switch for each outlet. top outlet is the ato and the bottom one will be for my water change water. water change will also run off this float setup, so all i do is drain water to where i need to and flip a switch and let it go and the float switch will turn off the pump. now about the off delay timmer. my idea is to have the pump NOT cycle so much. when the float lets go of the switch the pump will stay on for an extra 20 sec or so. i can let it go up to 300 sec or down to 3 sec. adding the extra ro water will lift the float alittle higher so it wont hit the switch so often.
here it is
now a short movie showing u in action. i turned up the volume alittle so you can here the water running and stopping. if u can see it you will see a red led turn on and off with the pump.
What kind of pump do you have the rotators hooked up to? Are they on a closed loop or the return from your sump? Thanks
