Custom Glass Tempered Glass Question

I just got a custom glass tank made with 3 holes and now feel like I want to add a couple more.

I believe it's made by Visuo (sp?).

Is it possible that they tempered the rear wall after they drilled it?

I asked the LFS and they said they'll look into it but I was wondering if you guys would know.

Thanks

tempering process is always done after the holes are drilled. this doesn't mean your back wall is tempered. i know some companies use tempered glass only for the tank bottoms. contact advanceaquatanks.com yourself to verify if your tank is tempered or not.

When i bought my custom 135 (visio) from LFS I also had them drill drill 5 holes in the back panel. I think i remember them saying that it had to be tempered after drilling the holes. I would contact visio direct to be certain.

Thanks guys, so advancedaquatanks.com is the maker of visio tanks?

yup, visio is their glass line and clear for life is there acrylic line. Also, tempered is usually only on the bottom of smaller tanks.

Yinger, you mean that larger tanks (mine is 70) will have tempered glass all around...or at least the ones that are drilled?

I read somewhere that usually only temper the bottom of thinner glass tanks, like 40 gallons or so. With the thicker glass i heard its usually not tempered, but I don't know for sure. But I'd assume the bottom to be tempered

Update: Only the bottom is tempered on my tank and they did not temper the back wall after drilling it. I did successfully cut and drill my tank wall. Going to add two more holes soon, hopefully that'll go smooth too.
