Cutting Acrylic

Gotta make some baffles for my new sump. Last time I did it, I had some made at a glass shop. I also made some out of some cruddy Home Depot acrylic. I need a bunch so I'm just gonna do it with cruddy HD acrylic again.

What's the best way to cut it?
Do I need a special saw blade?

I need some tips here. Any recs for better or worse acrylic? Should I just pony up the cash and have the glass shop make them all?

A higher tooth blade will def make a better cut(less chipping). What I do is just turn the blade on my table saw around. I also use masking tape on the line.

what thickness glass do you have? I'm gonna need a bunch, and it might get pricey. In the past I think I just used 1/4 inch, or even thinner?

hey Mark i can cut it at my shop for you whenever you need it done . i have the saw and a brand new blade that slices it with lazer precision .
on another not your plates of metal are at ABC if you go into the new addition behind the cash register and look at the immediate flood to your left you will find some pretty hefty chunks of steel there .
again if you need the plastic cut just let me know and we will meet up and get r done

if you decide to go with glass Mark i also can get that cheap and custom cut while i wait . this is what i did in my sump and it worked great . i even can sand the edges so you dont get cut ,its pretty easy and works much better than plastic and very much more economical too @!

I have access to full sheets of glass at wholesale prices if I can ever be of assistance.. I built my 380 gallon tank and saved huge like 1/4 cost.. Glass is far better than plastic..
Hit me up if you want..
