cutting night sensor wire on 7095

I have a 7095 that I have no interest in using the night sensor ... in order to keep things clean, can I cut the wire to the night sensor at the base of the 7095?

I am not sure that will work, I have not tried it. I would probably just coil it up and tuck it behind the controller and have the night mode and moonlight switched off. On controllers made since 2009 you can open the controller and unplug the photocell assembly and this is probably a good way to test it, that way the change is less permanent if it does not work.
