Cutting rock

How is everyone doing it? I suppose a power saw of any kind would be too dangerous since rocks are oddly shaped and the chances of kick back or grabbing seems high. Is a hack saw pretty much it? I want to have a nice evenly flat side to attach to the back wall.

yah if you dont have a little band saw next thing is a hacksaw, should go through rock pretty easy considering how pourous it is in this hpbby.

You can use a power saw, the secret to cutting and drilling rock is to keep it wet. Of course keep the cord out of the water. I drilled a bunch of rock for frag plug holes and I actually kept the rock fully submerged while drilling, drill went through like a hot knife through butter.

Hacksaw it is. The rocks I plan on cutting are pretty porous because they're a lot lighter than they look. Good to know they'll cut easily.
