cutting up(dividing) red serpent star

one of my red serpent stars has grown too large for his own good. just wondering if it's possible to cut it up without killing it. i know most seastars have incredible regenerative power but i don't know if this is applicable to serpent stars?

Yes it does but IMO not a good idea. Just trade it to a local reefer or LFS for a smaller one or credit and buy another.
