Tank has been running 8 months with absolutely no problems at all so far.
SG - 1.026
Nitrate - 0
Cal - 425
Alk - 7dkh
Mag - 1350

Recently i upgraded from 4X65W PC to 4X54W T5 on a icecap 660
after about a week i added some clean lava rock to my display tank from my brother to seed it with coraline for his tank. I washed it thoroughly and soaked it in water with Water conditioner then cleaned it again. I added it to tank And after 3 days i all of a sudden started getting cyanobacteria on my Substrate and some has been forming on the rocks that i added and some on my other LR. This is the only thing i have changed since the cyano began. Also yes i use o TDS RO/DI , do 15% WC every week, have a phosban and carbon reactor and a refugium FUll of chaetoease help with why this is starting after 8 months of 0 Problems?

Whene upgrading lights you need to limit main light time.Use for an hour or two and bring it up slowly. This will put less shock on the system and limit algea outbreaks.

i blame mostly the new lights and new rock addition, start with a short photoperiod for a couple of weeks gradually going up to your normal time, and keep up with your maintenance.

good luck
