After vodka dosing I started getting cyano growing in the tank even though nutrients were not exceptionally high. I decided to try biopellets (ecobak) and microbacter 7, and within a week this stuff is receding. So, yay! Just wanted to share my joy.

Cyano is such a pain in the butt. I'm slowly trying to clear it out of one of my systems. It's a slow painful process, so I'm happy you finally were able to get rid of yours.

I've had GREAT success using the Antibiotic treatment. I had horrible cyano and I used the minimum amount of medication and the cyano was toast. I haven't seen it in my tank since and it's been about 10 months.

I've also done some reading about 'Special Blend', available at Dr. Foster & Smith, that reportedly has helped folks with their cyano problems.
