cyano problem

I am trying to get rid of some cyano and right now I have a bunch of carbon running , new bulbs, and the flow in the 75 gallon is around 1600+. gph. I am doing regular water changes. I have just limited the light to just 4 hours a day. So hopefully I can get rid of the cyano. How long do you all think I can keep my lights like this? The tank is gettng a little light from a near by window. Let me know if I should be doing anything else. I will not dose with anything to get rid of the cyano. My friend lost his whole 300 gallon reef to doseing something. Any help would be awsome. Tank has 324 wats off T-5 's.

You don't mention how long your reef has been set up for. Some cyano is very predictable in an recently setup reef, so if that 's the case, don't worry. Are you using a good water source...RO/DI...for your water changes? Have you tested your reef's water for nitrates and phosphates. You provide only scant information so there's not much more to glean about your system. I would suggest upping the amount of flow in the tank, though. I know, a lot of people feel that 20X is enough. I found that closer to 30X is really beneficial.
