cyanobacteria,red slime algae

I am turning the lights off on my chaeto,I feel like that is the only change and it might be the source of the added phosphate, which in turn increase the cyano. I might settle for halimeda or caulerpa because my friend was having the same difficulties with chaeto. Nice set up thin ice,I remember that tank, nice plumbing on the sump, lots of room my friend. Thanks reef one,I will check my lights too.

flapjack and thinice, thanks for your help, added the brs phosban reactor and it works great, the tank showed its natural colors and po4 is down to .03 after 24 hours running it. Also the sps love it with full polyp extension, appreciate it guys.

What helped me was chemiclean. Careful with vodka dosing as you can also have an ethanol poisoning problem with your corals & fish. If you use chemiclean, use as much areation because it sucks all the oxygen from the tank.
