Cyanobacteria Removal

After adding four new T-5's to my 30 gallon tank, an outbreak of cyanobacteria hit. My nitrates are at 4ppm, Calcium 430ppm, and Alkalinity 12.5. I have had my tank up and running for about four months now.
Someone suggested to turn the lights out for 48 hours and cover the tank to ensure no light is able to enter the tank. I also found that raising the alkalinity might help kill the cyano off (raised to 12.5 from 10.2). Currently, the lights have been off for 24 hours.
Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Cyano?

I used Red Slime Remover from Chemiclean and followed the directions and it worked great . IT may also clear up on its own..:fish1:
