cycling and no algea

I am sure this was asked before but I am into 6 weeks on cycling with dry rock only. (BRS Puk) This week everything is at 0 and nitrates are around 40ppm

I did a fishless cycle with pure ammonia and shrimp in the beginning. I also didn't add any lights to my system yet.

My question is, Is it normal not to see any form of algea? My tank is crystal clear. I put more ammonia in last night and checked today and everything was back to 0. Below is a picture of my tank and fish room. My fish room is not done and don't mind the tank not painted yet. I want to add my first fish next week after water change but just wanted some comments. I also can't add clean up crew because they have no thing to clean up lol ? I am stump but maybe my system is different or maybe its because I didn't add lights to it yet. ( Lights are coming soon)

That's what I figured. Would it be okay to add my first fish then lights? I am saving up for the lights I want but wanted to get a fish first?

You are ready for your first fish. You dont lights before adding the fish. Stock slowly and dont overfeed and youll be fine. What is your stock list?

My first fish would be a pair of clown fish. After that not really sure. I do have a QT tank but wasn't going to QT my first fish. I figured if I did see something I could get them out and QT them and keep the Display empty with lights and clean up crew if I had to. After my first fish all fish will be QT. Not sure if that's the right move but figured it was right for me . I did think about QTing my first fish but I would have to dose ammonia to keep the bacteria up?

Youll be ok with the clowns first and no QT on them. I would keep an eye on them though while you get the QT tank ready for the next fish. What size is the tank?

I was going to keep them for a couple months before adding any other fish. In the couple months I was going to get my lights and clean up crew if needed. I was going to order from live aquaria they have a bunch of nice clown fish that are pairs. Its a birthday present from my wife for me lol. I also have a refuguim that is in my fish room I am working on also in the same time frame .
