i did a mod to my maxi-jet 1200 and let me tell you: it puts out a nice wide flow patern as opposed to the narrow stream prior to the mod that i did. i got the kit from http://www.mjmods.com/
IT ONLY TOOK ABOUT 10-15 MIN. with pratice you could do it in 5min. it says that it takes it from 295/gph to around 1600+/gph. it is worth the $25$ for the kit if you want more flow at a cheap price as we all cant afford the TUNZE'S and farmer toys!!!

I was hoping someone would do this before I ordered mine, so thanks! I'll be ordering 2 1200s and 2 MJmods. That should be plenty of flow for my 150g.

would like to see this in action. I have 3 Brand New Maxijets not even out of the box yet. and 2 more will be laying around once I get everything moved to the 180.

it was more powerful than a regular maxi-jet :D
you can go up there and play with it if you want.

Hey Chad, they keep saying end of year. Do you have any kind of scoop? The 6055 will be controlable. I want a 6045!

Can I still do the mod to my maxijet1200s if I cut off the exhaust part of it for the wavemaker mod?

you can the front piece will be changed

Im Lon 2

when you do this you dont need the old intake anymore or the exhaust--is this where the water flows out of? if that is what you are calling the exhaust you dont need that any more either. i went from about a foot or less where i could feel the flow in fron of the pump and know i can feel ir from 3 feet away and the one maxi i had to mod for the 75rr creates almost a whirlpool effect to where there are no more dead spots due to the location i put it in.there is no comparison from what you get out of the box from maxi's as opposed to the mod that i did!!

I have a Tunze 6060 running oppisite my modded 1200, and performance is pretty close. Lon, I am at 367 and 270 Pm me Since Granite City is fairly close to me maybe one day over the next week or so, you could stop by and comapre it. If you go to beldts make sure you call and make sure they have one in the rock tank. They do not always have one running there.

beapeams

so what do you think of the mod. the first time i did it. the first time i turned it on it ran for about 10seconds then stopped due to the impellar[white] came loose. i only super glued on the top and not the bottom, but after that i was impressed about the output of the maxi after it is modded.

It is a very good mod, I ordered my MJ on line originally for 18 an spent 15 for mod parts. I am getting close to the performace of my 130 dollar Tunze. You can't beat that.
