Dont you hate going into a LFS and spotting a really nice piece only to later look at the glass on the tank and see "SOLD R.S.".So you move on and choose another piece "SOLD R.S." is there as well.. ..that just irks me.
I can understand why it happens but as a retailer I would move these items to the back as to avoid letting other customers down.

yes, i feel your pain...I was looking for a paticular coral for a couple of months and walked into a LFS and they had four of them that were really nice looking and a fair price and all were "sold". It is very disappointing, but I am not sure there is a good place to move them so that everyone would know they are sold (they just had it marked on the glass as you noted)....I usually start with noting which ones are sold first so I don't get my hopes up and then I look at the rest...In this case about a month later they had 3 even larger and nicer corals at a lower price so it worked out for the best. They all three are doing great and growing.....we have several good LFS here in Memphis so with patience you can usually find what you are looking for....or try talking to the store manager/owner and I am sure they would try to get something for you and hold it?? If not, the internet is a good alternative if you are looking for something that is not very common. I prefer using the LFS, but have used the internet with much success.

I wonder who R.S. is?????...... maybe we should just take him/her out. seems like he/she is the common denominator in this problem.... getting all the good stuff first. =o

Well I guess I am being a bit childish and Im very glad to see people doing business, I just get my hopes up to easily I suppose.
