Nah! It is doing really well. It looks worse in the picture than it actually is. I don't want to trim off anything because there are live polyps on the underside of all those branches that will creep up and recover the damage. Just needs time.
Update: I still have two small frags of the yellow bottlebrush I keep going on about and today I noticed the polyps are starting to peek out a bit! I may be able to rescue this coral yet.
Purple tip acro-- still losing flesh but slowing down. It may turn around as well. I suspect that when these corals do come back I will have a strain that is much more ammonia-tolerant than the colony as a whole was.
I am not sure why these pieces of the yellow BB held on. One is in the shade and the other is directly under a 400w MH and a 250 off to the side a bit.
Update: Holy COW! I have NEVER seen this in all my reefing years!!! The bryopsis growing in tufts on the dead tops of my pocillopora is actually bleaching out and dying! I hate bryopsis because nothing will eat it (it's toxic) and it is tenacious, unsightly, and difficult to scrub off with a toothbrush. Something is killing it. I know not what. Here is a picture:
Compare that to the one above. Pretty amazing I think.
