Damsel in hiding

I've recently added a Damsel to my aquarium. So far he hasnt gone to the surface or come out from his little hiding spot in the Live Rock. I know he hasnt died because I can see him swimming in place. He seems to be using his gills faster than usuall. The levels havent changed. Is this normal for a damsel in a new place?

Anything else in the tank? Sounds like he's stressed, someone might be chasing him. IME damsels will swim around like they own the place right away, unless they're being harassed.

Yes I agree with Blinky Damsels are very aggressive and tend to act like they own the whole tank. How did you acclimate him? That usually isnt a good sign seeing them breathe heavy. I work a a fish store and whenever a new fish start acting like that they usually dont pull through. My hopes are with you hopefully he is just getting used to you and his new surroundings.

I just got two damsels as well. One is hiding in rocks, the other I cannot find. I put some food in there hoping they'd come out, but only one did... the one that I could see.
