Dangerous question, foxface or tang in 50gallon

A 50 is a blenny and goby tank; or clowns with nem; or others may offer combos that have worked well. Your ideal fish max at about 3-4 inches, and most of those are caught as adults, so WYSIWYG on the fishes. Providing an environment in which fish can have a territory and you can watch the community interact is rewarding... behaviors are interesting in themselves. Color can be come by: the midas blenny, or yellow watchman goby is bright yellow. SMall gobies come in barber pole stripes. A single yellowtail damsel will fit and is bright blue. A dwarf angel is a possibility if you have no corals. I'm sure others can provide other examples. Go to one of our sponsors and look for fish that have an adult size in that range, then consult one of the compatibility charts or ask around. I ran a successful 50 with blennies and gobies, dartfish and small jawfish.

I have a long nose hawk and is one of my favorites, I never know where he will be perched. I will caution if you want shrimp in the tank then the shrimp may become a hawk snack.

some flasher wrasses may be nice in your tank.

Yeah if your wanting color get a wrasse. Flashers and fairies get super colorful and when they flash they look awesome. And for the most part they all get along

you can get a tang for a 4 foot tank. i would go kole tang. he would go crazy grazing on your rocks all day. i had one in a 3 foot tank for 30 months, really didn't cause any trouble, just chased my dwaft angel around for a week and then left it alone
