danskim's 300g rimless starphire

awesome tank, I really like that you kept a very low aquascape, whenever I move to a bigger tank that is what I want to achieve.

Danskim, I have a suggestion if you don't mind. I would paint that white pvc tube in the back with some black krylon fusion paint. It will blend better with the black background.

Thanks Stephane. I'm actually already doing that. I'm waiting for the Fusion to completely dry/cure. Last time I didn't wait enough and kind of peeled in the water.

danskim, you could cut the plug off of the wire and replace it with a universal AC adapter? I made my moon lights and this is what i used to plug them up. I am able to tune in the look i want from 12v down to 1.5v. Are your moon lights LED's? I missed them in the pages.

Hmm.. I'll have to do that then. Thanks Frankie!

It's so annoying how my comcast internet goes out when there is a somewhat bad storm. Aren't the cables underground? Haha.

I just got my order confirmation from Atlantis Aquarium.
Hopefully the frags are as stunning as the pictures :)

I'm sure the local reefers over the west coast have a few more exotic things since you are closer to the major importers. I've purchased the majority of my frags from locals too, but from what I've seen, no one has anything too spectacular.

I also hope this is my last major purchase for a while hehe.
Oh and a little acan frag pack I intend to get too.

Actually, there's a local place that has somewhat reasonable prices for aussie corals, and he said he'd make me a frag pack for pretty cheap.

Frags came in :)

Ocean blue hoek (acropora hoeksemai)
Purple death lokani (purple and green acropora lokani)
Superman montipora digitata
LE steve elias stag (acropora loisettae)
Oregon tort (acropora tortuosa)
Incredible hulk acro (acropora spp)
Metallic red table (acropora cytherea)
ATL Big branch bansai garden (acropora spp)

All the frags seem to be doing well except potentially the hoeksemai. The tips are a little white, but hopefully it'll be fine.

I'd say after about 15 months, most of the small frags became medium and some large colonies.

Dan, you are putting a lot of pressure on me! All my coral are 1" frags, as well! I hope to grow them out as nice and big as you've done over the next 15 months :)

I'm sure the corals will realize how beautiful of a kitchen they're in and do their best haha.
Strangely, a pink pocillopora and a green pavona basically grew only maybe 10% of their original size in the same amount of time. I still don't really understand what happened with them. They're in the new tank too, so maybe they'll decide to catch up.

Dan, Atlantis is local to me. They have really nice stuff! :)

I drive 2 hours to Atlantis. The incredible hulk from ATL is nice; I have that one as well. I have a few (15 or so) corals that I've got from Ming wei.
