danskim's 300g rimless starphire

Also here are the fixtures I was talking about...

JBJ:

The JBJ is tiny but cheap. Cheap could be a bad thing though.
I like the Won Brother's spotlight. I could easily get 2 or 3 up on the ceiling above to highlight different areas of the tank.

Last option is getting two 2-bulb T5 fixtures to make it 20 bulbs total.
There's a cheap CoralVue T5 hangable retro complete with individual reflectors. (http://www.coralvue.com/t5retro.html). I'd get the matching 36" and 48" fixtures to cover up the back area of the tank. Of course performance will probably will not be on par with the Powermodul, but that's okay.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to consider 2 small hanging HQI pendants from PFO, Aquamedic or SLS.

I like the addition o the 2x6's I just tripled up each 2x4 leg. Looks like s you r ot o a good start. My keyboard is craping out sorry..I am going to change it out

Looks good! I think you'll be really glad that you got the wavebox when you start watching your corals sway back and forth in the current. I wouldn't worry about the 12" lighting gap - the light dispersion will probably be such that you don't even notice. (Plus you can always add it in later if it bugs you :) )

Thanks jasert39. I plan on priming and sealing the stand in the next few days.
Some equipment and supplies came in today too... pretty exciting stuff!

I've pretty much finalized my equipment for the most part.

Aquarium:
96x31.5x24.5 in 3/4 glass. Front and right panes are starphire.

Lighting:
- ATI Powermodul 8x54w and 8x39w
- Potentially 2-3 x 150w HQI lamps for supplementary light

Circulation:
- 2 x Tunze 6100, 1 x 6200, 1 x 6212 on 7095 Multicontroller
- OR6500 return pump on WavySea

Skimmer:
- ATI BM250 - Depending upon how well it keeps up, I may change to the Reeflo Orca.

Sump/Refugium
- 100g Rubbermaid stock tank for sump
- 30g refugium

Miscellaneous:
- Remote DSB - 20g Brute or 30 gallon glass tank
- K2R calcium reactor
- Two Phosban reactors if needed
- AC Jr - DC8 and DC4
- 1/3hp chiller

Still no visible progress with the 300g. I primed and painted the inside and top of the stand with exterior semi-gloss paint. And I siliconed the seams/gaps on the inside. So the bottom should be able to hold quite a few gallons of water in the event of a spill.

Two weeks to the delivery date of the tank. I've been contemplating how to move such a big thing. Lucky for me I have a bunch of willing people from my local reef club. Very grateful to them.

However, I added a few little corals to the mini-me... 3 ricordea floridas, a ricordea yuma, a small candycane frag, and also a little frag of some colorful zoas.

Bad news. My tank is delayed because GlassCages said they will not be making a stop to Baltimore this month. Delivery date is now Saturday, October 27, tentatively.

that sucks..At least have more time to get ready.

Where are you placing your tank? Are you going to make cabinetry, wc adn your other plans?

The tank is going to the basement.

Actually I am a little glad because this gives me time to properly set up an electrical subpanel to power the tank. I was a little worried about how exactly I am going to do it, but it'll definitely easier without the tank there for a while.
I probably shouldn't attempt this myself, right? I'm thinking I need 3 or 4 20 amp circuits.

I am also planning for the cabinetry. I will probably still wait until the tank is setup before deciding exactly what I want.

One of my Powermodul fixtures is here and the other one is coming...
Also... every single bulb (16) is broken. Thanks UPS!

dog, every bulb? That indeed does suck. Probably the Jim Carey move where the UPS dude did a summersalt, handstand move with your bulb package! Interested in seeing a photo of your ATI powermodul? I'm thinking of going all t5 on my next upgrade build. How far off the water will you set the fixture, 6" like your last tank?
