I agree with you that GC has a a bad rep from all the researching i have been doing. I will be upgrading to a 300 Envision tank this year. I am having trouble seeing how you can tell the silicone looks awful though. I am in no way defending GC but being a person who has experience building aquariums I know a bad job when i see it and fail to see how you can tell in the pictures provided. It would be better to ask danskim for a close up of the joints if you see flaws. then we could help him.Originally posted by Reef Aquatics
I like your daschund....I have a miniature longhair...
I know you are excited about your tank. But Im sorry to say..just from your one
photo...the silicone job GC did looks aweful! I did business with that company once
and needless to say I will never buy another thing from them again ever!
Esp after reading the story on here about the guy that bought the 250 gallon
from GC and it burst in his living room! He had like $20,000 in damage..and
the owner of GC laughed at him and said it wasnt his problem.
I hope you have better luck....cheers!
I think anything is repairable. I replaced my whole front pane with starphire and rebuilt the rest of the glass.Originally posted by danskim

In person the silicone looks okay. In case there was a "bad silicone job," what would I do in that situation? [/B]
