So is it possible for them both to turn into females?

I've had them about a month and all was well until yesterday when they discovered the anemones. The fight has been on, ramming each other and lip locking.

My 'male' has had a really fast growing spurt and is now the same size as the 'female'. Neither is 2" but close. They came as medium size.

As far as I know, the larger clown will usually force the smaller clown to become a male. Right now it's probably a matter of territory rather then sex

Once clown turns female it can not become male again. If the two didn't form a bond then it's possible that they are both female if they never hang out together or formed a dominance.

I'm not sure either has actually 'changed' since I don't know how old they are. I just assumed the larger one would take the female lead and the smaller one would stay small. My other pairs (I've had 2) never had these kind of issues.
