Dart & 1.5" Inlet???

So how does running a DART on a 1.5" inlet instead of 2" affect the pump. I have three darts at the house and bought a new glass sump drilled with a 1.5" bulkhead. Any experiences....hoping to not have to buy a new pump.....

I know I should have sized the bulkhead better..but the ship has sailed....

I've run twin baracudas each with a 2" inlet and got no cavitation on those pumps. I should think you'd be fine with a 1.5" on a dart.

That said, I was just thinking about this issue a couple minutes ago because the tank I just ordered will have 1.5" bulkheads for the intakes of my Dart and Hammerhead. I'm a little concerned about the Hammerhead but my thinking is that I can just restrict the flow on the output slightly if there are any cavitation bubbles.

Its fine. Step it up to 2" as soon as you can.

Hammerhead on the other hand might not be too happy.

I have a hammer head and the inlet is 1.5 and my dart is 2'inlet
i have ran my dart with a 1.5 inlet with no problems

your right.. I have two hammerheads.. forgot what the plumbing size was :lol:
