Dart on mixing station

I am using a Reeflo Dart Gold as my main return pump. I can get a good deal on a used Dart, and need a pump for my mixing station to automate 70 gallon water changes. If I use the dart, I have a backup in case my return pump dies. Is this suitable for intermittent use? It won't sot dry, just won't be on most of the time.

I use a dart but leave mine on almost all the time. Shouldn't be a problem using it intermittently.
