No Rishma, the tiny might skimmer that I made before! Ha, that wooul be a sight, an exploding 32 inch tall skimmer.Originally posted by rishma
are you serious about putting a dart on the fat little brother skimmer? That is insane. I can't wait to see it.
Why not try a tiny-might on the little skimmer? Is it more or less work to mod a tinymight vs. a dart?
Your skimmer is inspiring. Well done.
   Wow, that kills me. i was trying to justify a big skimmer so i could biuld one also. your sick mike really sick, but brother your not alone.Originally posted by smjtkj
Ha! Ha! You are not going to believe this but it is for a 200 gallon system! I know I know I am sick, SICK! I think I am going to add about 30 or 40 fish!

can you pull the diffuser out of the main body and run it for a little while and give us a report on how the skimmer does? im interested in the difference the diffuser makes in turbulance and stability. alos wattage draw and air input.
thanks mike.
Rishma, I was right at 90 scfh out of the tiny might, but then settled at 75 scfh after the air pum took a fall. It was running at 94-96 watts with the hailea air pump.Originally posted by rishma
oh, ya that makes more sense. duh.
I am curious about comparing the wattage/air to for the tinymight and dart. I'll have to dig up your old thread, or if you remember that would be easier.
thanks.

Ohhhhh... you were running it in freshwater before?!?! No DUH it wasnt going to work well... lol. I overlooked that.
Looks very nice. If you are getting 3000lph with the Dart alone, I would say that is just right for a body and neck diameter of those sizes.

Scott, I ran it without the diffusor top on and the turbulance was increased. I am not sure how I would measure it, but it was noticable. The wattage did not really change except to bounce backe and forth 1 or 2 watts higher. It still accepted the same amount of air. The Dart is running at 115-116 watts with the skimmer all back together. I am bleeding off about 40 scfh from the al-60 according to the dwyer. So it is consistently pushing about 120 scfh with no problems. I think the Alita 40 will be a good fit.
