Date question

I have 2 6055's and one of them clicks like crazy while under operation with my controller! When I went to look at the dates on the driver, it reads "1107", so is it safe to assume it was made in Nov 2007? if so does that mean I need to purchase a new bushing? Or is it too old and I have other problems? I bought it brand new like 2 months ago form my LFS (which means its been sitting there for awhile) so I know it has only been in my possession.

There have only been 4 changes from then to now and all are retrofittable.

1) Disk 6025.740 replaced by 6055.740
2) Drive unit upgraded to be stiffer and quieter (6055.700) (less free play since Dec 07/Jan 08, you can check this on yours by holding the magnet in one hand and the prop in the other if it is tight and doesn't easily move side to side, no reason to change it)
3)New silence clamp reduces vibration transmission to the glass, part 6025.650 introduced 10/10.
4)Power supply changed but this is really just to meet a EU law regarding phantom loads, by law an off appliance in Europe cannot use more than a fraction of a watt since 2010, the power supply you have needs 2w in standby, the new one about .25W.

the prop itself is white, while the one that was built this year (212) is blue, so should I replace this in order to stop the clicking as well? or more of a overall improvement?

this one has the switch on the bottom, but it works so no need to replace

The 6025.740 disk is just a black ring, you will barely see it and you need a small pen light (like the free LED ones you get on key chains, etc) to really see it down there, this is important because the old one has to come out before the new one is put in. You will only see it as a raised area in the middle around the shaft, about the diameter of a pencil and only about 1/8" thick.

The blue propeller is only a color, the white was the same plastic and everything. I would check that the prop fits tight, basically it should turn 270 degree and stop and the good ones that are low noise turn tight, like dragging something on rubber, if it turns easily, like so loose you could blow on it and it would move on the magnet, it is the older style and should be changed.

Please let me know, if you just bought it as a new product, I will work with you on getting these parts to you.

Ok the drive has a strong pull to it so I will not need to replace that, so do I just go on Tunze.com and buy the 6055.740?

Yes, and you will need a pick tool or some very small needlenose to remove the old one, it has to be pulled up and off the shaft. If you send it in, I would do it at no charge, but the shipping to us is more than the part so if you have the tools or would like to have the tool for the future (we actually sell a suitable pick 0220.707) and want to do it yourself, you could just get the part.
