Dave B. 400g tank photos

Dave was nice enough to send me a list of the names of each coral I photographed. However, I can't edit the OP or second post to include the proper names. They are labeled properly in the Flickr album though FYI.

Dave you are so kind, what a gentleman. I will do what I can to be there. Rick your skills are excellent. Keep taking photos!

Dattack, I have to replace the tank. The acrylic is going bad on the front panel.

I love everything about my tank, and if I replace it I wouldn't change anything about the tank. But the thought of spending that money and work to have the exact same thing is hard for me to deal with. So I got the idea to flip my fish room around and put the fish tank on the opposite wall.

With the flip I could go 10x3 or 10x4..... I could definitely use your help with the engineering. I love that my tank is entirely open topped with a stainless steel frame. But there is some considerable bowing in my tank. So I would like to figure out what it would take to build a 10x4 or 10x3 (both at 28.5" height) with a steel frame and perhaps a single slender brace across the center to stop the bowing.

I am no engineer, but I don't believe glass will ever bow. ;)
8x3 glass tank would be nice and manageable. 10" is gunna need a lot of flow, and require lots of lights. $$$

I wanted to include a full rez version of the FTS simply so you guys can zoom in a bit more and actually check out Dave's corals and fish a little closer. Click on the picture and it will take you to my flickr account. When there, click on the image and it should let you view it a little larger

Schnitzel -- I have 8'x3' now it is nice and totally manageable - I love my tank.

Glass can bow. And while I would love glass just for the ease of cleaning Coraline off. I love the clarity of Acrylic. I like that me plus a couple of friends can move the tank if I need to. I like that if I get the urge to change my plumbing I grab a hole saw and put a hole wherever I like. And glass scratches and you're bummed. I've buffed my acrylic tanks many times to fix my oopsies.

Flow and lights for 10' is not an issue. I have 8' now I am pretty sure my surge tank can push to 10'. Plus the Neptune WAV pumps are working well for me adding a couple of those is no biggie. And I only need 2 more Radions to get from 8' to 10'.
