DC4HD or DC4?

On the Neptune Systems website it has this rather vague statement "NOTE: Due to the high inrush current (greater than 40 Amps) on ICECAP ballasts, we do not recommend that you use this module to control these ballasts. Use the DC4HD instead."

Which ICECAP ballast are they referring to?

I have a 400W PFO ballast. I have no clue as to it's inrush current.

The ballasts that cause problems with the DC4 are the VHO 440 and 660. They have a large capacitor connected between the hot and neutral wires. When the ballast is turned on, the inrush currents were so high that the contacts on the DC4 relays fuse (like an arc welder).
I'm not aware of the design characteristics of Icecaps MH ballasts, so I don't know if this recommendation is applicable.

Thanks for the response. I think I'll just measure the inrush on my magnetic ballast just to be safe.
