What makes potters angels so special that they are priced 330$ ? Even for a trio?

JMO -- getting a Potter's from Diver's Den is going to cost more -- you can be assured that they are healthy and eating, which is a huge deal for a Potter's. Then to have 3 of them together, that are eating and healthy....

If I didn't already have 5 dwarfs I would have jumped on them -- the money isn't chump change, but given where they would be coming from, it wouldn't be a big deal -- if that makes sense. Saying I would feel very safe spending that amount of amount, because of the condition they will be in.

It's the fact that it is a trio that makes it more rare and harder to come by. Also, the fact that they are offered on "the den" means that they are eating and healthy, double win.

I find it too expensive for just a trio of regular angelfish. They are not rare or uncommon. Normal price for a fullgrown healthy adult is 80$
This is one adult and two juveniles. It is not a mated harem. Its just an adult and two baby's. I have seen more pairs or trio's that exist of a big one and a small one, but it is no guarantee for a good pair. It isnt even a pair!
If you include shipping costs you are paying 400$ for a big potter who tolerates two smaller ones. I would at least want a mated trio for that kind of money. I didnt even pay half that kind of money for my healthy flake and pellets eating achilles tang. I could get two feminine wrasses for 400$ Or a pair of candy basslets. This is a really good example of how much prices can vary between country's. Europe is 10 times cheaper than US.

Stefania, it's one thing to question or disagree with the price, but nobody wants to hear all the ranting.

If you find them too expensive... Don't Buy Them -- see how simple that is??

You are telling me, that in Europe, that a trio of HEALTHY Potters would be around $40?!?! Because that is what your math works out to be.

Your definitely entitled to your opinion, but the person who bought them really decides if it was a value for them.

BTW, if you can get me a trio of Potters that are acclimated and eating in an aquarium and guarantee them for 14 days, let us know, I am sure we will be interested. :twitch:

I said 80$ per adult? I dont see were you come up with 40$ for a trio. You should get a calculator...

I'm not saying they arent worth it in the US, but I do know that this kind of price would be way over the top for a trio in my lfs. I am just pointing out the difference in prices all over the world. I saw a feminine wrasse on DD for sale for 1400$. I asked my lfs for a healthy and eating specimen, costs 230$ I didn't have my tank cycled so I skipped this one, but I am very suprised to see such big price difference. How come prices are 3-10 times higher in the US? I am curious about that.

You said europe is 10x cheaper than US. Since we are paying $400, you must be paying $40. Or were you being overly dramatic?

I said 80$ for a healthy adult. Not everything is divided in 10 you know. I am not being dramatic, it is just an expression but yes, somethings are 10x cheaper. And I meant in general, since I already told you the price for a potters.

I would not be worried about price on these because I am sure they are all in great health thus justifying the price.

What I would be more worried about is the long term success of this trio in someone's home aquarium; many of these so called advertised trios are fish placed in hold tanks together and they get along.....but later on down the line it may not be the case.

I hope whomever got these is ready for some possible bickering.

It is a great looking set of fish though. Great color.

I love DD, but I was surprised at the price from this post. I didn't know Potters' Angels could go for that much money. I bought my pair individually at a LFS, almost killed each other, but paired up after a few days. They are so awsome to look at when paired up because they act like a cute couple. I think I only paid $25 for each fish. I guess I got lucky. :D

Having said that I buy quite a bit from DD, so they def gets a thumbs up for their service, unique variety, and guarantee.
