Whats the time it take to reanimate some dead live rock? I've got a lead on some dead tampa bay saltwater live rock, around 40 lbs for 25 bucks. I've never done this b4 but my plan is to put it in a bucket with some lr from my tank, with a powerhead and a flood light on top, anything else i'm forgetting? Any advice? thanks!!!!

I'm not sure about the time curve, but I did this in a new setup, and my cycle took 2 months. Variables include temp (mine was 80 degrees) and porosity. (Mine was porous.)

That's a lot of money for dead rock that, being 'tampa bay' stuff, may not be porous enough to make very good live rock.

hmm so to be safe should i just seed it anyway, hmm but what constitutes dead being out of water or without light?

dead = dried up out of water in saltwater without light will = some die-off, but should be ok - watch out for mini cycle
