I would say at a place of business you could get away with it assuming it isn't just something for your personal enjoyment and for that of your customers. Not really much different then nice artwork .

With a "home office" you are pushing your luck. The IRS loves to audit schedule C's and home offices.

But don't take it from me it is April 17th and I am probably still drunk.

Which office do you work at? Gotta make sure I stay from it, last thing I want is a drunken CPA. :lol:

A lot of people convert a part of their home to an office IE garage or a dedicated room. I would have to assume it's safe to do so eh? Even so, unless the IRS are dead bored or if they're on you for other reason, I highly doubt that they'll come and audit you for a fish tank. But that's just my understanding of it, You're the drunk CPA.

Its not the fish tank they will audit you, but the 3000 x 12 expense that may not be deemed ordinary and/or necessary.
