As you may have seen in my 75G build.. I got a wicked deal on a 75 (now for sale).. I was looking around on Grayson's local forum for a 20G long for a sump and ran across an add for a 125G setup that is going to cost me less to setup than the 75g. Went and looked at it.. and brought her home.

New tank is a 6 footer. Came with a beast of a stand (is all planks, not ply). I will probably be painting or staining the stand black. It came with lots of things. HOB overflow.. all the plumbing.. a sump with a buit in skimmer. Maxi jet 1200 powerhead. Two 700gph pumps (the one for the skimmer doesnt work, so I need a new one).. a heater... just a bunch and bunch of stuff. It does need lighting though, they had some ridiculous flourescent lowes deal on it.

Lots of cleaning:

I need some more base rock, sand, and salt... if anyone has any give me a ring (606) 483-1074 or shoot me and emial travelwithdebo@gmail.com as I do not check these boards but at work. I will also trade the 75G tank for some if anyone is interested.. if not.. it is for sale for what I have in it.

Good deal! Do you know what lighting you will be using? What skimmer does it have?

I should have some LR available in about 3 weeks. I need to setup my 30G first but I plan on selling what I have left over. It could be as much as 30 lbs of nice Fiji. I will probably have some Tonga Branch left over as well.

Awesome.. just let me know.. shoot me a PM or something.
The sump has a built in skimmer... looks to be interesting.. I am going to try it once I get a new pump for it..

Lighting.. right now I am looking at a 3x250w MH... with 4 t5 actinics... and pod LED lights all in one fixture.

Not sure... been discussing.. what do you think?
Right now they are running yes..

Update.. got my salt... sand.. etc last night... Got the salt I needed for $35 total.. and 80lbs of sand for $40! :-)

Mixed the salt in.. moved the LR from the 37 over... and then started rinsing and putting sand in.

Here is my girlfriend putting sand in:

I think you might be doing your sand the hard way. :)

The way I did it before was add sand first, spread a trashbag on top, then add water. The trash bag helps the sand from getting too disturbed when pouring in the new water. Also, did you rinse it first? It won't hurt anything, just take longer to clear up.

Everything I read on bioballs said they are okay if your doing a fish only tank but if your planning to keep coral your better off getting rid of them.

BTW, keep an eye on the equipment exchange here on RC. I purchased my light fixture for about 1/2 or retail.

LOL yeah.. sand took forever to clear up...
Tank is up... params are
PH 8.4
Ammon 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0

So perfect params... tossed in the damsel this morning before leaving for work..
