I searched the forum and found 1 reference to placing the Deco rock on the sand and that this wasn't a good thing for the pump.
How far off the sand do they need to be?
I have a southdown DSB and my sand "drifts" around when I make any changes to my water flow patterns, but it stays down pretty good.
I'm contemplating getting 2 more streams and putting them in deco rocks.
Here is a few pics:
Lots more pics here if a close up would help any - http://padens.com/files/tank pics 2-13-05/index.htm
I'm also gonna swap out the Reeftec PE-2 for a stream and get the new controller. Tank dimensions are 122x28x28.
I was thinking putting 2 x 6200's on the ends of the tank and 2 x 6100's in the middle of the tank somewhere with the deco rocks. Do you think that would work okay or should I just hang the 6100's on the sides of the overflows?
Thanks for any advice. I know personal tank consulting isn't your job!
I really have pretty good water flow right now but I think I can kick it up a notch and still keep my sand in the tank.
Thanks, Nathan
