I currently have a 30ga cube and 58ga plumbed together with a common sump/fuge. The 58 is a mixed reef with SPS/LPS, a few zoas, and 3 small RBTA's. The 30 is a lower-light all softy tank. This is the one I want to covert. I have a 175W MH on the 30 cube, but it's a REALLY blue bulb and it's high off the water because it's only softies so I didn't care much about getting lots of PAR. I'll need to change bulbs soon, and I'm planning on getting one that's not quite as blue (currently using a Hamilton 14K). In the tank I have a pair of onyx clowns and I want to get them a nem. Lately I've been drawn towards some of the carpet nems (basically, something different than an BTA or LTA). I also want something really cool colored. Which one would you recommend? The flow isn't terribly high, just about 250gph from the return and a tunze 2025. I have a second 2025 I can put in there if I need to though. Here's my thoughts on nems, but let me know what you all think:
cryptodendrum adhaesivum - (adhesive, or pizza anemone) this would work from my flow standpoint, and given a better bulb and lowered reflector it might work. I like the color, but don't know much about shipping/care on them. Also don't know if my Onyx will host.
stichodactyla gigantea - (carpet nem). I don't know if I have the light or flow for this one, and it's also difficult to keep/ship. Cool colors available, and my onyx will likely host in it.
Stichodactyla haddoni - (haddon's, saddleback, or carpet nem). They get big, but would likely accept my lowish light and lowish flow. Awesome colors, but would my onyx percs take to it? It's also hardier, which is a big thumbs up for me.
heteractis magnifica - (ritteri or magnificent) Once again, perhaps borderline on light and flow, but might work well. I suppose I could make my rockwork such that it climbs to the top and stays there...Percs will def. host, but my tank may be a bit on the small side for this guy. However the colors are really nice.
That's what I've got narrowed down so far. Any suggestions ffrom those that have had these nems or know more about them than i do? Thanks for the help.
