dear Seahorses gurus,
I am setting up a 180 ( cycling as we speak, another three weeks).
i really would like to have seahorses but not sure whether my low flow refugium would work- it will be lit with LED 5100k, 78 F constant temp or slightly less with a very low flow. Deep sand bed and some chaeto/ mangrove planned.

Could that work?:fish1:

Good luck with your build! And if you go seahorses, just be warned, it can be even more addicting than reefing!

Yes that darn temperature thing... always keeping me from horses. I run the reef warm (84 F) for faster coral growth.

Seahorses don't belong in any part of a reef system, even though occasionally it does work for a few.
There is nothing to stop you from setting up another tank and enjoying both reef and seahorses.
As already mentioned though, they ARE more addictive than a reef tank or tanks.

Wow i didnt even know that the idea was out there that you could put horses into sumps. Thats just... not right. But any way in my opinion a 180 gallons is way to big for a horse tank. I mean that in a 60 gallon you could have like 2-3 pairs........ but horses are addicting and i love mine.
