Sorry for quality cellphone pick. Tank is almost empty due to a brown jelly disease outbreak. I have 2 additional corals in qt.

o man that sucks any idea what caused the outbreak?

Yeah flame angle picking at corals combined with high nitrates. Both issues resolved at this time

No HOB??

I guess i'm not quite understanding that? In the pics I saw on page 3 it looks like you have a HOB return hanging on the back of your tank? and on your manifold coming off your return it looks in the pictures where the pipes are going behind and up the tank?? Am I seeing that incorrectly?? I do see that both overflows are piped in for Herbie but you would have to have a return.

The pipes up and behind the tank are my supply to the dt. All 4 opens are used to provide a herbie method of return in each overflow

Ok, so when you say supply you mean the water from your return pump in the sump. Also how far off the wall does your tank sit? It looks really flush but I figure it would have o be at least and inch or so o accommodate the PVC. Thanks

Yes, it sits about 4" off the wall

Gotcha.. I guess when I saw this image I couldn't see it having the return on the back because it's so flush to the wall..

Now the next phase....

I received an Apex system from my wife for the holidays. My problem is with a 24"x 48" tank there is no room under the stand.

So it will have to be an add on cabinet outside. On the left side I don't have enough room as I'm trying to leave space for a denitrator

So I guess I will have to set it up on the right.

Here we go...

Glued the frame

Added clips for strength

Added nuts at back of frame

Trimmed out frame

Added stops for the mounting board

Cut and inserted mounting board. Now to lay out the Apex and install grommets.

Great build! Interested to see what you do with Apex cabinet. I had the same issue when I bought my Apex. Want to show it off in my stand but the room just isn't available.
