I was wanting opinions on a dsb for a 300gal mixed reef. I want good nitrate controll but dont have a ton of room to add a big fuge to help with that. I also want sand in my display tank.
The only thing i am worried about is 3 or 4 years down the road the dsb failing.
How long with proper maintenance can you expect a dsb to work before it fails?
I plan on a 4" depth and using all live sand, i know that will be alot of money but i want to ensure it for a long time. i also will be adding more live sand yearly. I read about this maintenance on one of the articles(not posts) on here.
Anyway what do you think? is there a easier way to keep nitrates low with out going bare bottom? just dont like the look or a bare bottom tank.
