...vinegar. White vinegar, poured over the offended fingers and rubbed in and just allowed to work for a few minutes. Works wonders. I got properly nailed, moving rock, and the spines are almost all gone after a brief treatment. I just smell like a salad.

i think i will find myself in your situation within a year. two weeks ago i noticed the first of a few bristle worms in my tank. i pluck them on sight because i have no need for them in the clean up crew. thats what my mini brittle starfish are for. and starfish dont sting me .

Yep, a rinse with hot water and a soak in vinigar will help a lot.

I've also used duct tape to get the spines out. Didn't know about the vinegar, though. Good tip.

Duct tape works GREAT!! You can also hot wax them.
