Deflation vs Contraction

Is this a deflation or contraction? The anemone in question looked like this in the morning.

Looks to me like it probably just closed up some from night time/lights out going off just that one pic.

In the case of an anemone, I would say deflation and contraction are the same thing -- if a gigantea is removing water from itself, then it's a bad thing.

You'll know by day 4 if the treatment is working.

I hope all is well!

What would cause an anemone to expel water? Is it possible that this behavior is a self cleaning mechanism? All my 3 magnifica drastically deflate once in a while and "bloom" to normal size about an hour later. I don't know what causes deflation as they are all in the same tank and never deflate at the same time. This is not to be confused with the total retraction of the tentacles that magnifica often do at night, resembling a bowling ball.
