my sump is in a basment so i have to use a dehumidifier down there
so i was thinking why not just drain the water back into my sump
do you think this is a bad idea?
would the water be bad in some way?
this would help out with my rodi not having to make so much water

Someone asked this before if I remember correctly and the verdict was NO.
I believe part of it had to do with the copper in the dehumidifiers plumbing.

bad idea.

Not just the copper from the coils but you're also pulling out a bunch of the contaminates in the the air along with the moisture.

in addition, the air moving across the coil is pulled from the room. Even if there is a screen filter in front of the coil, there's still alot of dust that makes it onto the coils. that washes down with the condensate, effectively pulling dirt out of the air and putting it into the de-humidifier output water.
my output goes straight into the drain.
