What is your water change schedule like?? Do you do any maintenance on your SSB? Beautiful tank....I've been in this for almost 4 years and can't get those results.

I try for a 20% water change once a month, don't always make it :p I used to have an orange diamond back goby that kept the SSB well stirred but he jumped out the back of my canopy a few months ago :( I still have a crew of fighting conchs working hard though. I haven't done any siphoning and replacing of sand.

You know that candlelight acro looks just like my incredible hulk acro minus the purple. Do you know if they are the same coral just alittle difference in apperence.

The candlelight is an acropora chesterfieldensis, not sure about the incredible hulk. I have the ATL Incredible Hulk but it looks different than the candlelight, I'll try to get a pic up of it.

Very impressive tank! How many fish do you have? How about a picture of your equipment? I have been trying to reproduce your lighting also, probably go with ab special instead of the new generation. I too am waiting for frags to grow, it is an exercise in patience for sure.

13 fish. 5 chromis, 3 lyretail anthais, squarespot anthais, 2 percula clowns, midas blenny and a kole tang. I don't have a picture of my equipment handy, I'll try to take a shot of it and get it posted. Yep, watching all the frags slowly grow day by day is tough but it's rewarding when they start filling in!!

I got my incredible hulk from atl, but its not the atl hulk though, its the original one. Do you know where the origial came from was it Rommel? Yea im not sure if its chesterfieldensis or not mine is still to small to tell, but either way it looks nice lol. Oh by the way how is exoticfrags im thinking of ordering some things from them its the only place i can find the lime in the sky.

I got good communication and service when I ordered from exoticfrags. Frags arrived with no problems and were as advertised. I'm with you on the lime in the sky, that's a nice piece it's one on a short list of frags I still need to aqcuire.

Great pics. Would love to see a basement sump shot. I see you run the zeovit stones, do you dose the rest of the basic 4 as well?

Lime in the sky is sweet, both the blue and green glow. I have a nice colony going. Now I wish I could find a tiny frag of IceFire. ;)

Amazed at the results with only 20% monthly water changes. Great none the less. I have been waiting for this thread for some time.

I snapped a couple quick pics of my sump and frag tank last night. I'll post them in a sec. When I change out the stones and start with fresh ones I will dose the bac and the food every night for the first week to foster a bacteria population then I will just dose them once a week after that to maintain. I change the stones every 2-3 months. I don't see a need for the other zeo additives aside from the AAs and the coral vitalizer which I mentioned in my inital post, I feel like these two help with coloration and growth. I tried a bottle of the sponge power and will continue to dose until it is out but I don't think I will replace it, haven't noticed a big difference with it.

Very nice corals and nice aquascaping. Cant go wrong with the rule of thirds :)

Had to look that one up but I'm with you now. :D I always enjoy seeing pics of your tank, amazing colors.

Thanks for all the great compliments!

Here's a picture that shows my frag tank, the sump is directly below the frag tank under the stand. You can see where the water comes out of the wall in the upper left of the photo, travels across under the shelf and empties into the far end of the frag tank. I have a baffle and pair of overflows on the near end of the frag tank that empty down into the sump and I rely on a genX-mak4 pumpt to send the water back up to the display on the floor above. You can also see my RODI system on the wall.

A picture of the sump area in it's usual disorganized state ;) You can see the phosban reactor I use to run some zeostones for bacteria supplementation and of course my bubblemaster 250 skimmer. Auto top off system is off to the left.

The beast hard at work :D

delkin~ How much zeostones do you run??? You seem to be running more than the recommended amount for your size system... At least from what I've read... I recently started using them, so I'm curious... How often do you change them out too???

Actually I use less than the recommended amount, probably about half of what is recommended. It looks a bit deceptive since the phosban reactor is so small. They recommend 1 litre of stones per 100 gallons of water volume. I have 130 gallons of water in my system and I use almost 2/3rds of a 1 litre bag of stones when I replace them.

I replace them every 2-3 months. When I first started I only used 1/3 of a 1 litre bag.

Ok, gotcha... I guess I'm still using less since I'm just starting... :D

Where's that whitish acro with the blue tips that I liked so much??? You posted a pic of it in the photography forum a couple months back...

Congrats on your beautiful tank. The icefire's growth is phenomenal. How you do have your tunze's pointing/cycling on/off?

Sump in a disorganized state. lol.

Preachin to the chior buddy. My basement has become one big fish room...and with all work in progress and 5 tanks and a 6th taking up space waiting to be filled and the glass for 3 DIY monsters and 3 sump systems in constant flux. I know what you mean and I've just accepted it and adopted it as my new home state. That is the disorganized one.

Nice thread. ;)

:p yeah... that was a typo. I was thinking 08/07 and I accidentally wrote August 08. I really got that frag August 07. Tried to change it but I guess you can't edit a post past 60 minutes :(
