Deltec dealer nearby?

Do any local shops carry spare parts for Deltec skimmers? Or specifically, Aquabee 2000/1 skimmer pumps. I was able to find spare parts from an online vendor, but I believe they're in Canada and mailing an O-ring and pump bushings to the US was $15!!! The parts are only $5...

I do not think that there is any local dealer that carries Deltec. My recollection is that Deltec requires a stocking level ($$$) that is infeasible for the vast majority of dealers.

Doug Thompson of Deltec USA to assume exclusive US distribution of all Deltec products
Wolfgang Weidl, owner of Deltec GmbH, is pleased to announce that effective immediately, Doug Thompson, owner of Deltec USA, will become the exclusive importer and distributor of Deltec products in the US. Mr. Thompson was the original importer of the Deltec product line, founding Deltec USA in 2004, and will handle all sales including parts requests, warranty issues, and Deltec related questions.

Doug Thompson has gone AWOL......for me anyway. I bought his last TC3070 [he had it set up @ MACNA where I studied and asked questions with repeat booth visits]. It arrived damaged. It was shipped with one of the pumps in the chamber. The pump was not cushioned and broke a large section of acrylic out. There were a number items slipshod packed...'O' rings in th skimmer cup, rubber base nipples missing from under the base, air canisters loose in the box. What a mess. You've got the picture.

Doug was supposed to take this unit back and have another shipped from Germany to me.
We last talked more than a week ago. Since then he doesn't answer phone calls or emails.
There is a lot going on behind the scenes that is not public knowledge right now, but ......

Sorry to hear about your situation. Sometimes the help you get packing up after a show can back fire on you. Sounds like someone did not know how to re-box the skimmer correctly. I'm sure Doug will be in touch with you once the new skimmer arrives from Germany. There is not much he can do until it arrives. I know my comments don't help the situation any but I'm sure he will make it right with you.
