depressed clown?

I added a little dark orange/black ocellaris with my orange one, since addition my orange one has decided to show it who is boss. At first it was vibrating at it, but now it chases it around the tank now and then.

My concern is the little one looks depressed, he is always swimming close to the rock on one side, or next to the pump on the other, it shows little interest in food and unlike the orange one, doesnt swim up when its feeding time, instead it pecks at food and retreats.

it has been eating, but not as much as the orange one.

is this normal for a clown to be doing this ? or should i put him in a seperate tank for a little while to be on his own a little more. He barely swims around and I have spotted him one day resting on the rocks and not swimming at all, he looks exhausted as he had been persued by the other one a fair bit that day.

how long have they been together? I would at least give them a week or two before moving, unless one is trying to injure the other.

the new one has been in the tank for a week, it has been bothered for a week now and looks to be extremely stressed, it barely swims and atm is facing vertically in the water and swimming weakly.

I would seriously think about moving one of them then. I would personally move the stressed one to a QT. swimming vertically usually isnt something that comes from aggression, most likely a sign for some other malady. you may have larger problems on yur hands if it doesnt turn itself around

i think i mightve misread my clowns actions, he sits vertically against the powerhead and sits there. maybe hes trying to host it? He seems to take great favour in staying in that one corner with the powerhead, hes always sitting nearly completely still next to it, occasionally moving or sitting vertically.

is this hosting behaviour? or sickness?

sounds like he is hiding. how big are they exactly? are they both juveniles? if they are both around 2 inches, then I would say that you may have 2 females and one is trying to avoid the other.

i ended up putting him in QT, hes in a 10l tank on his own with a few cured rocks, he looked too stressed and in the qt i can see how much damage the guy had taken, all his fins are ripped on the edges. I think he will stay in QT for a few weeks until he is more healthy and recovers . Funny thing though, the qt water i made up has ph of 8.2. but the tank with the same water as the qt has a ph of 7.8... maybe I will need to do a 100% water change in the main tank to fix this issue.
