I need help with this one.Noticed today an interesting thing that my 7" derasa was doing.It closed and opened real fast two times,each time relising something that looked like a cloud of whitish,stringy looking substanse and all my fish went crazy.I mean they went after it and ate it.No one bother the clam though.
Can anyone tell me what it was?Gammets,else?

Sounds like your clam may have been releasing sperm. How does the clam look now? Sometimes this is a stress reaction. Or it could be that something else triggered it. Kinda cool to observe, I've only witnessed this once. Did you get any pictures?

My 5" Ultra crocea has done this also, usually just has a cigarette after and gets back to normal.

You guys are killing me .I wish I had camera in my hands,but all I could do is watch with my mouth open,as I've never seen clams do this before.
