Dersa Clam Enemies??

I have had a fair sized Dersa for about a year so I think the tank conditions are ok. From one day to the next he died. All retracted the shell hanging about half open etc. The only thing I can think of is I added a handful of nassarius snails and 3 dove snails about a week before he died. Has anybody heard about either of these snails being detrimental to a clam?

I am really shocked, he was fine one day and gone the next

ive never heard of these snails. do you have a true name for them or can you post a pic?

clams can look great and then one day there gone. can you tell us more about your tank?

lighting, filtration ect...

Are you positive that the Nassarius snails were true Nassarius? I got a huge piece of GSP once and thought that I got a free Nassarius with it. It turned out that it was a small tulip snail, which is a clam predator. Luckily I caught the snail as it was trying to feed on the clam. I tossed him and the clam quickly recovered. I have also never heard of "dove snails," do you have a scientific name?

I have two dove snails...I don't have a scientific name for them, but they have never bothered my clams. My dove snails look like giant nassarius snails. They are detrivores.
