Desjardin's Sailfin

So I get home from work today and my Desjardin's Sailfin is laying it's side, it moving a bit and everyonce in a while will swim a little the go lay on it's side again. I feed my tank and it would eat food that came to it but wouldn't swim after food - I read that blue tangs will sometimes lay like that but nothing about the red sea tang - any thoughts? Thanks

Also I just put it in my tank a few days ago - all my levels are perfect and my clowns and coral look great

could be ph shock? good skimmer. this tank is way to small for this fish. hope it is temporary. needs to be in around a 180 gallon tank in the long run. did you buy this fish from a lfs or online?

how long did the lfs have him? any updates? eating? did you test for ammonia? could also be some kind of poisoning and the tang has showed signs of this before the clowns... like window cleaner.?

my only guess is toxic water conditions.. any update? i recomend emailing the crew at wetwebmedia.com to see if they have anything to say/help you.

It really hasnt moved much from this spot for the last 6hrs

So my wife just reminded me - I got the fish on Sunday, went to dinner and when I came home it was stuck on the filter intake tube - I have no idea how long it was stuck but showed no signs of being hurt

salinty 1.025
calcium 500
phospahte 0
nitrate 0
ph 8.2
temp 79.8

hmmm calcium seems high but good readings. have you tried counting gill beats? around 60 per minute is good. could just be "scared" from the powerhead experience. oh and beatiful fish. i have one the same size.

Just cut the lights off and let him be. If he is still sitting upright as he is in the picture he is probably just stressed or wore out from the intake ordeal.
